OUTTA LEFT FIELD-

Someone posted this on our official Reason Clothing Facebook page recently. That’s Tennille also known as 10iller on the left, and Scott, better known as Kid Cudi, on the right in matching Reason Clothing x Mighty Healthy – ‘Native New Yorker’ tees. Real cute.

I bring this up for two reasons, one, Tennille has a new mixtape, 10illematic/10FDOOM, available for download free here, and our Facebook page needs some more ‘likes’.

FUN CITY-

One last post from the city of sin. I left a memory card reader for the Canon Rebel at home so this set is straggling behind. Also I think it’s time to invest in Canon 5D Mark II, right?

Hustle mode. From right to left; unmade bed, rack of samples, and Price, lurking in the shadows if you look carefully.

IMG_6566_9446.jpg

This. Right here. Is. Trade-show. Swag.

Little peek at our upcoming jacket and outerwear offerings.

History Channel really has the weirdo cool-hunting television genre on lock as far as I’m concerned. You know I’m into that stuff, and so it’s probably not surprising that Pawn Stars and American Pickers are my guilty pleasure TV shows.

Naturally since I had an extra day in Vegas I took a walk down to the Gold and Silver Pawn shop, where Pawn Stars takes place, and took a look around.

Hey dude, get outta my shot.

IMG_0029_9496.jpg

What you don’t realize from watching the show is that the entire neighborhood is actually littered with run down, empty pawn shops. Then you walk into this place and it’s packed with tourists, there’s no way this place would survive if there wasn’t a TV show based around it.

IMG_0043_9510.jpg

Most overheard phrase in here… “I’ve seen that episode!”

IMG_0037_9504.jpg

The only people who should wear (or own) Superbowl rings are the people who earn ‘em. If you drop 100K on a Superbowl ring at a pawn shop in Vegas there’s a 100% chance you’re playing yourself.

IMG_0045_9512.png

Okay, at 3-5 grand a piece, these rifles beat the ones we have hanging up in the studio.

IMG_0034_9501.jpg

The only place the store makes money. Selling licensed show merch in the back. Everyone wants a t-shirt with Chumley on it, now it all makes sense.

IMG_0035_9502.jpg

IMG_0038_9505.png

Alright, fine. I’ve seen this episode. $5,000 for the Even Knievel pinball machine.

IMG_0041_9508.png

Boom.

Anyway, on my way back I walked through the seedy part of town with the wedding chapels attached to hourly hotels.

IMG_0008_9475.jpg

Not exactly-

IMG_0009_9476.jpgIMG_0010_9477.jpg

Pow-

IMG_0021_9488.jpg

Right after I took this picture the newly-wed husband started yelling at me and chasing me down the block. Dude. You gust got married at a jungle themed hourly hotel. The guy taking the picture probably doesn’t even have film in his camera. I’m not your biggest problem.

IMG_0024_9491.jpgIMG_0012_9479.png

Alright thats it. New York City posts coming right up-

IMG_0005_9472.jpg

INSIDE PARENTHESIS-

Tuesday we took a break and headed down to the Capsule Tradeshow in the convention center at the Venetian. Vegas is amazing because you can literally go an entire week without leaving your hotel. The only times we breathed fresh air was during the walks from the hotel lobby and into taxis. Anyway, Capsule is the fashion and lifestyle trade event that fuses high-end contemporary brands, directional independent designers and premium street wear labels.

Chrissie Miller’s Sophomore NYC line was cool. Her stuff is casual and fun, but always intelligent and well put together. Check Sophomore out at http://www.sophomorenyc.com/

IMG_6567_9448.jpgIMG_6571_9451.jpg

We also stopped by my buddy Carl’s beachwear line Onia. Their collection of swim trunks is slowly but steadily growing into own with new additions like bags and flip-flops.

IMG_6572_9453.jpg

And boom. Back in New York like that. One more Vegas post still to come.

IMG_6589_9443.jpg

TWO FOR ONE-

Two Vegas updates on one day, I need to be gettin’ paid per post here. Last night we sponsored a party with DubFrequency and Diamond Supply Co at the Foundation Room with tunes provided by DJ-PRICE and JayCeeOh.

The ratio of guys to girls at these trade-show parties defies the laws of physics. ALL DUDES.

IMG_6493_8714.png

Price’s DJ set murdered it. People were literally astounded. It was pretty cool.

IMG_6495_8716.jpg

Got to catch up with my friend Alex Valdman. Alex used to run a brand called Homeroom, he is now one of the lead designers at Levis, a very talented young man.

IMG_6496_8717.jpg

This is also Alex. He runs a great footwear brand called Thorocraft, check it out, his stuff is really awesome.

IMG_6497_8719.jpg

Hollywood Holt. Always in good spirits. He made me re-take this picture three times until he was satisfied with it.

IMG_6499_8721.jpg

JayCeeOh on the decks. He just won a $10,000 McDonalds DJ challenge, officially making him one of the top DJs in the country.

IMG_6502_8724.jpg

Curren$y performed.

IMG_6505_8727.jpg

This was the view from the terrace.

IMG_6509_8731.jpg

Scott Sasso, 10Deep owner and designer. One of the nicest guys you’ll meet in this business, or any business for that matter.

IMG_6513_8735.jpg

After that we headed down to XS at the new Encore hotel to see Afrojack perform. Apparently XS is one of the top grossing clubs in the country, they make something like a billion dollars a year. Apparently we’re in the wrong business.

IMG_6515_8737.jpgIMG_6517_8739.jpgIMG_6518_8740.jpg

Afrojack won a grammy on sunday for his remix of Madonna’s Revolver, which he was gracious enough to remind the crowd about three hundred times over the microphone.

IMG_6531_8753.jpgIMG_6532_8754.jpgIMG_6535_8757.jpgIMG_6536_8758.jpgIMG_6539_8761.jpgIMG_6553_8775.jpg

If you’re in town, come by LAVO tonight to see Price perform alongside JusSke for a good time-

I DON’T BELIEVE IN MAGIC –

Today we’re in Las Vegas doing the trade-show thing. First stop, Magic, the mammoth conglomerate of a show that everyone LOVES going to. Reason sales are being handled out of a more exclusive, appointment only showroom at the Venetian, but we stopped by the show floor for a sec today to drop in and make appearances with the regulars.

On the way in, bumped into Dante Ross. Always good vibes coming from Dante. Used to come over to our apartment back when we were on square one to talk sneakers and t-shirts, we’ve come a long way since then.

IMG_6450_86221.jpg

Said a quick hello to Holly Madison on the way up as well. Had one of the craziest nights of all time with her, Eric Cano, and the crew from Girls Next door the other night at Tryst and left my camera at home of course (yeah right, right?) all there is to prove it is this twitpic.

IMG_6453_86261.png

Back on the floors of Magic. Not much as changed.

IMG_6467_86401.jpg

Greg Rivera (mishka) is the big boss now. Here he is approving a $50,000 order on his iPad.

IMG_6463_86361.png

Michael from our Baltimore stocklist, PEDEX. 19 years old writing orders at Magic, now I know what it feels like to start getting old. Psych.

IMG_6452_86241.jpg

OG’s. Jamie Story (J Money, one of the quintessential t-shirt lines of the 2000’s), Russ Karablin (SSUR), Mike Malbon (Frank 151, Frank’s Chop Shop)

IMG_6456_86291.jpg

FINALLY, Affliction does something worthwhile.

IMG_6457_86301.jpg

Ben (thehundreds) wants you to know he’s applying lip balm in this photo, not making an obscene gesture.

IMG_6460_86331.jpg

Terry Kennedey (Fly Society) has more jewelry than you.

Diamond Supply Co (new Diamond x Reason coming soon?) –

IMG_6470_86431.jpg

Mike (Motivation) is a good dude-

IMG_6471_86441.jpg

We also stopped by Project, the contemporary men’s show, downstairs. The homie Ian Regan snuck us in. Ian is also a real good dude, he has a new shop called Black Banditz which will be stocking Reason Clothing, opening in Los Angeles very soon specializing in contemporary menswear, haircuts, and tattoos.

IMG_6474_86471.jpg

Atif (VANE) is showing new VANE and Vane x Sebago shoes at Project.

Need a pair of these… www.wearevane.com

IMG_6477_86501.jpg

Ouigi Theodore is killing the game right now. His line/store, Brooklyn Circus, gets my choice for most improved menswear line of the last five years. Absolutely awesome lineup. Check out their website here.

That’s it for today. More updates coming tomorrow.

NYFWEAK

It’s been a busy week.

First stop, Real Quick, For Fun. It closes tonight, so if you’re in New York, head down to 376 Broome street, you know, for fun.

PJ put it all together. Looking at this picture makes me want a beer.

IMG_6402_8573.png

Emmett puts a lot of things together.

IMG_6406_8577.jpg

Hipsters (in a good way).

IMG_6409_8580.jpg

Here’s Sean Kinney. He also ‘curated’ the Real Quick, For Fun event. One of my new year resolutions is to try to grow a beard.

IMG_6410_8581.jpg

Next stop, Tim Hamilton presentation at The Standard hotel. Timothy Hamilton is my personal favorite ‘fashion’ designer, but this season I wasn’t so impressed with his offerings. Everyone was freaking out about these shoes though, so uh, take note I guess.

IMG_6412_8583.jpg

lineup.

IMG_6413_8584.jpg

Fashion hipsters. Lotta lazy beanies in the house.

IMG_6420_8591.jpg

That guy on the left with his head turned facing the camera yelled at me about 20 times for getting too close to the models. I’m like dude what is this a zoo? I’m not gonna feed ‘em. You can imagine how funny he thought that was.

IMG_6421_8592.jpg

Smile. Guess not. Contrast button. Note taken.

IMG_6423_8594.jpg

New angle. Same hipsters.

IMG_6434_8605.jpg

I’d never wear a jacket like this but the pockets and the fabric were really rad.

IMG_6411_8582.png

Hearing people talk about fashion sometimes makes me sick. As I took this picture some guy behind me goes ‘god the way the shoulders on that sweater fall is art, truly, art’. Then I thew up.

IMG_6415_8586.png

Bumped into the lovely Sabrina Bacon.

IMG_6445_8617.jpg

Ladies stuff-

IMG_6443_8615.jpg
IMG_6439_8610.png

My only takeaway from this fashion wee; burgundy is going to be very popular, as will black and blue. Send me a check for $5,000.

IMG_6438_8609.jpg

After party at Avenue. First time there. Fun. So much fun in fact this awesome picture is the only one I managed to take the entire time. There’s a whole set on Patrick Mcmullan though, click here to check it out.

IMG_6447_8619.jpg

After after after party at Goldbar with Price. Next up… Vegas, see you tomorrow.

DUCKIE BROWN NEW YORK FASHION WEEK-

IMG_6293.jpg

Funny thing is, as unwearable as most runway clothes are, after it’s simplified and toned down for retail, this offering list will probably be remain unchanged.

COUPLE GOOD THINGS-

Our friends Andy from Fresh Melt Water and PJ from Don have two noteworthy projects coming to fruition this week. Both of them took things that have been done billions of times; throwing parties and opening stores, but with relevant and interesting new twists that made them stand out from the other similar pitches that get sent to us. Take note.

First, here’s to Andy. Welcome to Lodge; a Philadelphia store carrying the finest in men’s, and women’s contemporary and vintage clothing as well as a nice selection of art, accessories, and housewares.

Lodge is located at 177 W. Girard Ave. in Philadelphia, PA and stocks the breadth of our offerings from Reason Clothing.

Next up is PJ and Sean’s Real Quick For Fun event;

Real Quick, For Fun is a four-day pop-up event by PJ Monte and Sean Kinney starting Thursday, February 10th and continuing through Monday the 14th. During the four days Real Quick, For Fun will host art, fashion, food, and music. The space located at 376 Broome Street will showcase the efforts of a small network of friends organized from a street level. As defined by the title, the intention is to capture a feeling of spontaneity and unrestraint with irreverence to the oftentimes high-strung and rigid feel of art and fashion world events.

I’ll be on hand for Thursday’s opening, here’s your invite-
