For the past two months or so I’ve been going to various apple stores in the New York city area trying to score myself an iPad. If you arent aware, there’s this crazy conspiracy going on wherein hundreds of Chinese immigrants line up outside the stores every night, making it nearly impossible for anyone who isn’t willing to sit outside in the streets for 20+ hours to get their hands on one. Long story short, I got one online (the white one. Regret it already) and it is pretty ok.
Here’s a look at the first few weeks avec the new toy… All photos taken with the Instagram app.
Blue And Cream Presents Rhyme and Reason Summer 2011 Mixtape by DJ PRICE available soon.
Last night we made our way to the Bronx to watch the Yankees battle the Blue Jays in what turned out to be one of the Yankees’ best come from behind 9th inning victories of the season.
Celebrating a walkoff win thanks to Curtis Granderson and Mark Teixeira –
Our affinity for the pinstripes has made its way into our offerings from Reason on more than one occasion. The two most notable and obvious references are these classics:
The Jankees tee. From all the way back in Fall 2006-
And this design, a tribute to the original Yankee stadium-
We still work in nods at the Yanks here and there in certain pieces, sometimes even just in tag artwork, style names, and more subtle references. Who knew, right?
For those asking, retail price on the Reason Commanders will be $90, and they will be released online and through select retailers this week. Full details forthcoming.
Finally made it down to 96 Grand street to check out TheHundreds new retail endeavor. I gotta give it up to Ben and Bobby. When we first met them five plus years ago I didn’t see this coming. Congrats guys, the store looks great.
TheHundreds New York is located at:

Round two of my photos from Brimfield, MA. These first few are from a separate nearby show devoted entirely to vintage clothing. The place is an amazing resource for everything from old patterns, garments, quilts, patches, zippers, buttons, everything you could imagine.
People here are absurdly annoying about pictures. There are signs everywhere warning about how people have been ‘walking around taking photos in order to knock off old garments and everyone should beware of anyone with a camera’. So here, I risked my freedom for you guys. Here’s a quick video I took using Viddy.
This is the homie Doug and he has a pretty rad job. As the head of vintage buying for Polo, Ralph Lauren, RR, and all the rest of the Polo umbrella brands, he spends his days traveling and buying fixtures, clothes, accessories, and god knows whatever else for the brand. Watching the guy shop is insanity.
Today we’re back on the fields of Massachusets for the Brimfield Antique show/ flea market.
Everywhere you look at Brimfield theres ‘that guy’ there’s the music guy, the milk bottles guy, the signs guy, the sports guy, nautical guy, book guy, gun guy, you get the idea. I’m not sure I fall into any category besides annoying touch everything take lots of pictures guy. People from all walks of life, collecting totally different things, scavenging through loads of old crap in search of their holy grail.
There’s peeks into different worlds around every corner. The back of this chair for example, some kid probably slapped these stickers on in the 70’s, and somehow it’s remained intact since.
Polo poppin’ tags-
Also funny how when you see the patterns of purchases of the different buyers, you can predict the items that different brands are gonna buy. One minute you walk an old sign like ‘that’s so polo’ and the next thing you know it’ll have their sticker hanging from it.
This shelf will probably make its way into some video that I’ll be watching in the back seat of a taxi by the end of the season.
The rest of these are a few of my favorite reference photos I shot today-
One more post coming tomorrow.
HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT I ONLY GOT SEVEN USEABLE PHOTOS OUT OF A 27 SHOT DISPOSABLE CAMERA?
Don’t answer that.
Bumped into the CHICO on Houston street this morning while he was just getting started on a new mural. Dude is a legend of the Lower East Side, his dedication is expressed best in the ubiquity of his work. It’s hard to walk down any street in downtown manhattan without passing a ‘mural by Chico’. Real nice guy too.
Passed by a few hours later-
And again later that night, about 10 hours later. Still hard at work on this free mural –
