Not much to say about this party. Beni texted me and told me he was heading to a rave in Williamsburg. Kenny Scharf painted our faces. It was about 200 degrees. New York State had just announced equal rights for gay and lesbian couples. The streets were filled with people celebrating. Aside from the night Obama was elected this is the most energy I’ve felt on the streets of New York in my entire life.
Mikey Dons and his homies-
Tanya painted my face too-
Ravers are awesome. Bro. Where did you get that plush kitten chain?!

Earlier today, Complex Magazine released their official list of the 50 Greatest Streetwear Brands Of All Time. Reason was included, clocking in at number 42, right between Carhartt and In4mation.
Taking a spot as one of the best streetwear brands ever is a huge achievement. Without a doubt all of us at Reason are honored and inspired to be considered one of the best to ever to do what we do, and what’s more, we do this without corporate backers, real financing, or many of the luxuries that most every other company included enjoys. In looking through the list I counted four brands that are no longer in existence, 38 that are currently multi-million dollar enterprises, and only eight that like Reason, are to this day, truly independent, non-corporate, customer supported businesses.
We don’t do this to enrich ourselves, we do this because we’re committed to making the best possible products we can, and that means doing it the hard way, without a board of directors or a team of investors telling us to cut corners and sacrifice quality to boost our bank accounts. Don’t be confused, there have been opportunities for us to take the corporate route and “sell out” if you will, but if we did, I sincerely doubt we’d be one of the best. Ever.
So thank you to our customers, friends, and family for showing the world that our dedication to doing things the right way means something to you. Support the challenger brands.

Thank you to all the loyal Reason fans and supporters who trooped out to the sample sale this past weekend at our New York City studio. Usually I do a great job of photographing and documenting these events but this time around I stepped back and spent most of the weekend helping customers, taking credit card info, folding, organizing, and prying Brooklyn’s jaws from your ankles. It is truly inspiring to hear the stories of people who woke up at the crack of dawn, traveled hundreds of miles, and even cut school all in the name of getting their hands on unreleased Reason samples and peeking at some of our upcoming collections.
I have a roll of film pictures to develop from the sale so until then heres the only digital snaps I managed to get-
DJ EQUAL in the Matte Black Commanders.
All the way from Syracuse, New York.
This could not be any more random except for the fact that I found this on the same memory card as the above photos. IS THIS NOT THE FATTEST CAT YOU HAVE EVER SEEN?! IT CAN’T EVEN WALK.
For those of you who have asked (and remembered the tradition we’ve established) we will also be doing a special Online Store warehouse sale this week on select items for a very limited time, so keep clicking that refresh button for details.
The internets have been full of Reason’ey goodness this week. The Commanders Sunglasses in particular have been getting getting a lot of love from all over the globe. Here’s a quick selection of what people had to say this week –
Also Jon did this neat 15 Things You Don’t Know About DJPRICE Interview for Dubset. Patron and pineapple is an excellent drink of choice.
Matt’s birthday weekend in East Hampton with the crew. Nothing like kicking back enjoying bbq’s, fishing, time with friends, and all that summer has to offer. Thank you to Madison Mcgaw for being the official photographer for the weekend and shooting all these terrific photos.
There was a huge storm on Thursday night. Oliver woke up on Friday morning and informed us that apparently hundreds of clams had washed up right on the shore. Without hesitation we grabbed some clamming rakes and went right in to work for our lunch.
Matt’s girl Ali going in!!
Crazy effect on this photo.
Hermes the Hermit Crab.
Got to fool around on the new camera knowing a professional was handling the digital shots. Somehow the exact photo I’m taking in this shot is gonna come back completely blurry, finger covering the lens, and focused entirely on Matt’s armpit hair.
Some people are into exclusive sneakers or handbags, Matty tends to lean more towards vehicles and fishing equipment.

No idea whats going on here. Looks highly suspicious.
In other news, everyone and their very hip mother has been contacting us about seeing Glen on Terry Richardson’s Diary wearing our Diplomats Parody Tee this week. Yes. We saw it. Yes. It’s awesome. No, we don’t know why there’s a sex toy on his knee.
Slightly more relevant news: If you’re in town, come join us for the official release party for PRICE’S Rhyme and Reason Mixtape next week, Thursday June 16th, 2011 at 1OAK.
