I’m really excited about the new addition to our Online Shop this morning.
Today we released a set of bracelets made by our friend Tobey Tyler. Tobey’s bracelets, key chains, and other knick knacks are all hand made from a variety of high end, hard to find materials, treated for an antiqued look, and up until now, have not been available for sale anywhere. It’s no wonder that Tobey’s creations are a favorite amongst celebrities like Kanye West, Pharrell, and others, and it’s also no wonder that we have extremely limited inventory and our stock will not last long.
These bracelets are made of an anti-microbial rip-cord with an antiqued knot and washer closure. Available in two sizes, one for men (8.5“ long) and one for women (or men with smaller wrists, 7.5” long). $20 gets you a random assortment of three bracelets packaged in a custom Reason mini drawstring bag.

(Note: Tobey Tyler for Reason bracelets are the ONLY item excluded from the 50% off sale… sorry)
Nike hosted a screening tonight at the Bowery Stadium as part of their Chosen campaign. Action sports athletes from around the world were invited to put together videos of them and their crews doing crazy sports stuff, and guests were invited to vote for their favorites of the bunch.

Julian flew in from Los Angeles this week to kick off a tour with TMILLS at New York’s Highline Ballroom. Last night was the first leg of the tour, and everything went off without a hitch in front of the sold out crowd.
Tonight we’re at Cappellini SoHo for the private press opening for Christmas in the Summer, a conceptual bi-coastal art show by Derrick B.Harden & Laura O’Reilly featuring paintings by Kathy Grayson (Deitch Projects).
The entire idea of the show is that you can’t see the art for sale before you buy it. All paintings are wrapped in gift wrap and tied up with big bows, and an audio guide made by the curators offers your only intimation at what might lie beneath.
This is what the pieces look like. The idea is that viewers walk into the bright red showroom like an eager kid on Christmas Eve who has to wait to open their presents until the next day– or in this case when the show is over.
Just because you don’t get to see the art, doesn’t mean that you don’t see the art: the visual show of pre-gift-wrapped paintings by Ms. Grayson is accompanied by a looped 20-minute audio tour of the exhibition. The central conundrum of the exhibition is the decision of the collector to ever make the painting and image public, thus controlling information and highlighting the luxury of privacy in our mobile media obsessed cultural moment. They may choose to never share their present with anyone.
X-mas In the Summer opens tomorrow at Cappellini, 152 Wooster St between Houston & Prince, SoHo NY and runs through August 23rd.

Bumped into EASE DA MAN on the way. He made me promise two things:
1- I’d promote Snack Dragon on the blog. Here’s their Yelp page. They make very good tacos.
2- I’d post his video for his new song Opiate Pilates. Unfortunately the song and video are so unbelievably shocking and inappropriate that I can’t embed it but here’s the link.
