David von Mering and Carter Schultz of Wayland, MA create music that finds its roots in reggae, acoustic pop and indie rock, with smooth guitar riffs and a strong rap component. Aer has performed at Lehigh University, University of North Carolina, University of South Carolina, University of Vermont, Roger Williams University, DeSales University, Bates College, Syracuse University, The Studio at Webster Hall, and sold out headline shows at Canal Room in New York City and The Middle East Club in Boston. “The Reach”, which was sponsored by popular college music blog Good Music All Day, has amassed over 40,000 downloads since its May 9th release.  Their latest release, EP “What You Need,” rose to the #1 album on the iTunes hip-hop charts, and also made it in the top ten on the iTunes overall album charts.  Their iTunes single “Feel I Bring” made the front of the Reggae page when iTunes placed the song in their “New & Noteworthy” section and one of their latest singles, “Slow Down” was featured on prolific hip-hop blog 2dopeboyz.  Aer has shared the stage with the likes of Mac Miller, Shwayze and Cisco Adler, Hoodie Allen as well as Cris Cab, who they joined this summer on part of his tour at Webster Hall in NYC, and O’Brien’s in Boston.

NO HBO-

Today we’re on the road heading to one of our vintage clothing suppliers in Pennsylvania.

Yes. We drove all the way to Philly for a cheese steak.

111228_4104.jpg

As much as I’d love to I can’t reveal any of the merchandise we picked up for the Outpost during this trip. I will however say that just the items we passed on were better than 90% of the merchandise in NY’s top vintage shops.
Case in point-

As usual we will release a new delivery of vintage goods at the Outpost this Friday.

MADE IN HAND-

Three hand drawn graphics play the central role in the Reason Holiday 2 delivery. Each piece of artwork began as hand drawn sketches and made their way through the drafting and approval process on paper the entire time before being scanned and transferred directly on to film and burned into screens for printing.

Each step in the production process of these pieces was done by hand. From the illustrations themselves, to the cutting and sewing of the cotton and the washing and final inspection/packaging.

These three graphic tees are now available in the Online Shop along with the rest of our Holiday 2 delivery.

GRIT N’ GLORY-

Our longtime friend Veronica just opened her new cafe/boutique concept store called Grit N’ Glory. The space, located at 186 Orchard street functions as part boutique, part cafe, the boutique portion of which carries a full range of Reason Clothing products.

This is the LEGENDARY Arturo Vega. Original designer of the original iconic Ramones logo that we parodied for OUR legendary diplomats parody tee. He loved the design and told us it was THE best flip of the graphic that he’s seen in his career!

Nick Johansen, our store manager, in house illustrator, and all around nice guy. Trust me, those great reviews for the Outpost on Yelp aren’t because of me and Price, it’s because Nick is great at what he does.

These shots are from the premier of his Young Rich and Aimless art show at the Outpost last week-

This week the Reason Outpost became the only store in the world to carry these official Mars Bar NYC tribute tees. All the proceeds go to InkWell Foundation, a charity supporting volunteers providing therapeutic drawing sessions for hospitalized children.

After his visit at the shop Arturo Vega came back and laced Nick with one of these exclusive Ramones tees-

REASON HOLIDAZED-

Our 2011 Reason Clothing Holiday party came and went with vengeance and, from what I can remember, everyone had a great time.

Madison didn’t show up to shoot pictures until the after-party at XIX, so you’re missing photos from our more intimate early event at the Outpost, but you’re not complaining, right?

ILL ROCHAMBEAU YOU FOR IT-

It’s been a long week of holiday parties. Tonight we’re at the joint Proof7 Holiday party and birthday for Laurence Chandler at Sandbox Studios.

Everyone loves playing on a cyclorama. Except the guys who have to re-paint it the next day.

I only managed to take ten pictures before my camera battery died by the way so sorry if the coverage isn’t up to par.

One thing I’ve learned: being a bartender at an open bar holiday party is probably the best possible profession in the world.

111217_3842.jpg

And lastly, my favorite part of the party was that Josh and Laurence got Vic, the legendary bartender from the Cody’s tiny pub downstairs from their house to man the drinks. Classic.
